I have just returned from an incredible 5 week trip to Ghana. As we share palpable hope and joy in Ghana, every day feels like Thanksgiving.
One of the finest moments I’ve experienced in all my years in Ghana was the inauguration of our ninth library and computer lab that opened to an emotional and grateful Tafi Mador community thanks to the immense generosity of Tom and Ellen Jones. We watched mothers just as excited as the students to experience the story books, text books, computers and learning software never seen before.
All this was happening as Hope for Ghana’s fourth school proudly reached the roof level. At the new school worksite, a water borehole and Reverse Osmosis purification system now provide clean, potable water to the school and surrounding Klokpe community thanks to the extraordinary benevolence of Brother’s Brother Foundation.
Hope for Ghana continued to give the gift of life, providing access to clean, potable water to 3 more villages who had been drinking dirty water. There is no greater joy than seeing a village drink clean water for the first time.
Senyo and I traveled far to the Northern Region as we plan Hope for Ghana’s future. Sharing the vision of Hope for Ghana and pledging our long term support to meet the needs of this region, two villages have been promised schools in the next few years and more projects are on the way.
The story emerging in Ghana is a powerful and beautiful story of hope and gratitude. It is truly the story of thanksgiving. Every moment in Ghana, every story, and every life that together we have touched are reminders of how much we have to be thankful for. Have a joyous and healthy Thanksgiving!
