Despite intermittent rain and flashes of lightning, Manor Valley Golf Course radiated joy and an unparalleled spirit of generosity during our Charity Golf Outing on Friday. Sixty-five golfers embraced the challenging weather, proving that nothing could rain on Hope for Ghana’s parade. On the ninth hole, golfers were entertained by Professional Long Driver Scott Kalamar, while Chef Rich kept everyone energized with his wonderful creations “at the turn.” That evening, over 130 friends filled the ballroom for an unforgettable celebration of Hope for Ghana’s mission, enjoying an exciting auction, great food, friendship, and philanthropy.
Lisa Sylvester, Emmy Award-winning journalist and WPXI-TV news anchor, lit up the room with her warmth, elegance, and heartfelt compassion, making an already unforgettable evening even more memorable. Guest speaker Osei Boateng, President of OKB Hope Foundation, inspired guests with his own humanitarian journey and reminded us of the extraordinary impact of compassion and service.
One of the evening’s most powerful moments came during a live virtual visit with Senyo, Vice President of Operations, who emotionally shared Hope for Ghana’s impact in the villages and in his own life. Senyo’s stirring message revealed the heart and soul of this young man. “One of the greatest blessings is being able to stand in communities where people once felt forgotten and remind them that they matter. Through Hope for Ghana, I have learned that true fulfillment comes from serving others and being part of a cause that creates lasting change.” As he said goodbye, he left us with words that perfectly captured the heart of our mission: “Thank you for believing that education, clean water, health, and dignity should never be a privilege, and where someone is born should not determine their access to opportunity.”
Thanks to an outpouring of support from guests, sponsors, and donors, Hope for Ghana’s Charity Golf Outing was an incredible success, raising nearly $60,000—the most ever raised at our event. To everyone who was a part of this magnificent day, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this life-saving mission with me and transforming the lives of Ghanaian children and families forever.
“Thank you for believing that education, clean water, health and dignity should never be a privilege, and where someone is born should not determine their access to opportunity.” – Senyo Gbormittah, Vice President of Operations
