Dr. Marbell’s Library, 2018

Dr. Marbell’s Library, opened in September 2018, is a very special piece of Hope for Ghana’s first school, Mason’s School of Hope.

The library is dedicated to Dr. Augustus Marbell, the man who introduced me to Ghanaian life, medicine and culture. Dr Marbell was a king among men. His loving, compassionate medical care changed the Suhum community and changed me forever. Dr. Marbell was a father, husband, teacher and friend whose kindness and humility will never be forgotten.

In July 2022, a computer lab was donated to the library by Gus and Lisa Kellermann in loving memory of their son, Matt. Thanks to their immense generosity, children are now using incredible software learning programs on new computers in Matt Kellermann’s Computer Lab.

Reading each email nearly brings a tear to my eye. Not only the benevolence that you have bestowed but the passion that you have to do more makes you truly a humanitarian.
