I have just returned from an incredible month long trip to Ghana. The hope and joy is palpable in Ghana, with a wonderful sense of thanksgiving.
As Hope for Ghana’s third school nears completion, we installed our long awaited roof. Solar power now provides electricity for the school, thanks to the immense generosity of Brother’s Brother Foundation. And a water borehole and Reverse Osmosis purification system now provide clean, potable water to the Sesime community thanks to this extraordinary relationship with Brother’s Brother Foundation.
Hope for Ghana continued to give the gift of life, providing clean, potable water to 9 more villages who had been fetching dirty water. A new donor contacted me from the United Kingdom, wishing to provide clean water to a village as a wedding gift for his Ghanaian friend.
6 young women began their journey to become seamstresses as part of Hope for Ghana’s Apprentice Sponsorship program, and 2 young men began their dreams of becoming a mason and plumber.
Brother’s Brother Foundation’s medical supplies shipment arrived in Ghana’s port thanks to their great logistics team. 24 new hospital beds and 24 mattresses are now part of Ghana’s health system so that patients don’t have to sleep on the floor.
The story emerging in Ghana is a powerful and beautiful story of hope and gratitude. It is truly the story of thanksgiving.
I have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. As we look to Hope for Ghana’s bright future, I am humbled to share this journey with you. Together we are bringing hope and life to the most remote villages in Ghana. Have a joyous Thanksgiving!
