The foundation of Hope for Ghana’s third school has been completed in 2021, and in 2022 our newest school will reach roof level when I return to Ghana next month. I am thrilled to announce the naming and dedication of the school and the school’s library.
Hope for Ghana will proudly honor the memory of my friend and mentor, Lawrence Owoputi, when Lawrence’s School of Hope is completed and inaugurated in July 2022 in the village of Sesime. A fine, soft spoken gentleman with great humility, Lawrence’s words of wisdom and encouragement were heard loudly. He was a Pastor, a philanthropist, a leader in the community and educator who loved life, sought possibilities and opportunities for others, and whose impact on everyone around him remains palpable.
Senyo’s Library honors the loyalty and faithfulness of my amazing friend and Hope for Ghana’s Ground Operations Assistant, Senyo Gbormittah, who embodies the humanity, the commitment, the passion and the values of Hope for Ghana’s vision. The heart and soul of this young man is revealed in his own words: “A philosophy that has blessed my life is that I have learned to give not because I have much, but because I understand how it feels to have nothing.”
2022 promises incredibly bright things ahead for Hope for Ghana, as together we bring the gifts of hope, opportunity and life to the most remote villages in Ghana. Thank you for transforming the lives of vulnerable Ghanaian children and families forever.
Have a very happy new year!
