In 7 days I will be arriving back home to the village of Kpando where I will reunite with the beautiful children at Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage who stole my heart exactly one year ago. I came home from my first trip to Kpando with a vision and a dream. It is your generosity that will bring that vision to life in just a few days.
The building that was completed in September has already been used by many of the children as they study and do their homework. But the tables are bare and the bookshelves are empty. It is because of your contribution that I will be arriving with the first set of books to line these bookshelves. The first set of computers will arrive from Accra, Ghana on December 29th because of your belief in this mission. And those computers will become a doorway to opportunity as they are loaded with over 40 pieces of learning software and learning games to help educate these orphans in reading, mathematics, science, history, art and Christian study.
I am continually overwhelmed by the interest in this important mission, from individual donors to church groups, and most recently from Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. I thank you for believing in my work and mostly importantly for believing in the amazing potential of these orphans in Ghana. As their voice I say to you thank you for your support.
It is a season of hope and of joy, a season of miracles and new beginnings all around the world. Thank you for bringing the spirit of this season to the children of Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage. Have a happy holiday and a blessed new year.
With endless gratitude,
Steve
