Steve Greene, MD
President & Founder
Steve Greene, MD is the President and Founder of Hope for Ghana, a public charity he established in 2011 following a life-changing medical mission trip to Ghana during medical school. That experience inspired a lifelong commitment to addressing the needs of underserved rural communities in Ghana through education, clean water, and healthcare.
Under his leadership, Hope for Ghana has built multiple schools, libraries and computer labs, and provided access to clean water in over 100 villages. He also launched the Mobile Medical Outreach initiative, delivering essential medical services to some of Ghana’s most remote and vulnerable communities.
Dr. Greene earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and received the Lamb Award from the University of Vermont College of Medicine for compassionate, patient-centered care. He completed his pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and practiced pediatrics for over 30 years before retiring in 2023 to focus fully on the mission of Hope for Ghana.
Senyo Gbormittah
Vice President of Operations
Senyo Gbormittah serves as Vice President of Operations for Hope for Ghana, where he oversees in-country project coordination, logistics, and community engagement across Ghana.
He works closely with village leaders, contractors, and community stakeholders to ensure projects are implemented effectively and in alignment with local priorities. Senyo plays a central role in managing day-to-day operations, helping lead the construction of schools, libraries, water systems, and medical outreach initiatives.
Senyo’s leadership and deep understanding of local communities help ensure that Hope for Ghana’s projects are sustainable, culturally appropriate, and successfully maintained over the long term.
