The Second Annual Hope for Ghana Charity Golf Outing was an event to remember. On July 14, 2018 Westwood Golf Club hosted golfers and dinner guests on a gorgeous sunny Saturday at a celebration of Hope for Ghana’s mission.
By the evening 125 people from 6 countries came together in Westwood’s ballroom, all sharing one common vision of bringing hope and opportunity to children in the villages of Ghana. Guests from Pittsburgh, Ohio, New York, Israel, Nigeria, Zambia, Congo and Ghana were treated to the beautiful music of harpist, Samara Egan, and captivated by the talent of Cody Sabol as he created, center stage, live paintings of Sidney Crosby and the gorgeous Pittsburgh skyline.
An emotional presentation at dinner reflected Hope for Ghana’s accomplishments over the last year including gifts of a school, water, solar power and most of all, hope. At dinner I proudly presented Hope for Ghana’s newest video highlighting the story of Hope for Ghana’s first school as well as providing access to clean water and solar power. Created by my video editor and friend, Allan Rose, here is “Hope for Ghana: The Creation of Hope for Ghana’s First School” (click here to view).
I am forever grateful to all of you who have joined me on this incredible journey. Whether you came for a day of golf, or arrived in the evening for dinner, you were part of a day that changed the course of the lives of children in the most remote villages in Ghana. Hope for Ghana’s Charity Golf Outing was an enormous success, raising nearly $19,000. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing a vision of a better tomorrow for these children.
