What began as merely a vision upon my return from Kpando 10 months ago will become a reality around Christmas for orphans at Ryvanz-Mia Orphanage in the Volta Region of Ghana. The Learning Centre will come to life in just over a month as the first phase of the library and computer lab is established for these children.
It is the incredible generosity of several individual donors that has driven Hope for Ghana’s mission in Kpando. Donations continue to come in and some families have donated multiple times!
The generosity of my patients in my pediatric office continues to overwhelm me as families embrace the message of faith, hope and love and buy Hope for Ghana’s Hope Bands. To date nearly $900 has been raised in Penn Hills thanks to the untiring efforts of my dedicated receptionists who support this mission.
I was very touched by the immense generosity of Premier Medical Associates, the multi-specialty medical group practice to which I belong. Their support has shown that they not only are building better care in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but they are equally committed to making a difference around the globe. For that I will be forever grateful.
And finally the beautiful website of Hope for Ghana is the brilliant creation of a friend of mine, Michael Bartholow, of MB Consulting (www.mbconsults.com). You have created a great piece of work Michael and I will never forget this gift.
At this Thanksgiving time I am overwhelmed and truly humbled by the immense interest and support of my mission that I believe will change this orphanage forever. From the bottom of my heart I thank all those who believe in my dream. Your support not only changes the lives of 28 children in an orphanage in Ghana but it has changed me as well.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Steve
