Hope for Ghana is ready to build again! The vision of Hope for Ghana continues to grow as I proudly announce Hope for Ghana’s plans to build not only another library and computer lab but also to build its first school in Ghana. I am thrilled to share with you the next chapter of Hope for Ghana.
Hope for Ghana is very proud to announce plans to build its sixth library and computer lab in a small rural village, Abor, in February 2017. The Director of Education, Mr. Rafael Kwashie, and I traveled to several schools and communities while I was recently in Ghana, looking at Ghana’s greatest educational needs. When we visited Abor-Weme Municipal Assembly Basic School, home to 500 primary and junior high school students, Mr. Kwashie informed me that 0% of this school’s students were able to pass Ghana’s Basic Education Certificate Examination, an examination qualifying students to move from junior high school to senior high school. In that moment I knew this is where Hope for Ghana’s next library and computer lab needed to be built.
I am thrilled to share Hope for Ghana’s expanding vision of providing hope and opportunity to the children of Ghana. In the very remote areas of Ghana, educational resources are so depleted that some children attend “schools under a tree.” In many cases there is simply no structure in which to learn, and in other cases the existing structure is in such deplorable condition that the existing school is a potential hazard to the children and barely usable. In both situations children are forced to learn under a tree, vulnerable to the rain and the scorching African sun which often force school to be closed. Working with Member of Parliament, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, Hope for Ghana plans to begin building its first school in September 2017 with final touches including the installation of Hope for Ghana’s signature library when I return in February 2018 for the formal opening of the school. This huge undertaking will give primary school children the chance to learn with the dignity of a modern school and all the necessary tools for a proper education.
The educational needs of the children in Ghana are vast but it is clear that Hope for Ghana can make a huge immediate impact on these needs, one library at a time, one school at a time. I am very grateful for the growing awareness of Hope for Ghana’s mission and the overwhelmingly generous support from donors, churches and local businesses all over the world. The future of Hope for Ghana is bright as doors continue to open here at home and overseas.
Our journey is far from over. I invite you to join me and be a part of Hope for Ghana’s future as we continue to change the lives of tens of thousands of Ghanaian children. Donations to Hope for Ghana are all tax-deductible and will have an immediate impact overseas with 100% of your donation used in Ghana for this mission. Together the possibilities for these children are boundless. Donations can be made securely online on this website or directly to me.
As the voice of these beautiful Ghanaian children I thank you for creating hope and opportunity with your love and support as Hope for Ghana brings educational tools to children starving for the chance to learn and yearning for a brighter future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this vision with me and joining me on this incredible journey.
With love and gratitude,
Steve
My dear friend Steve, I took my time to have a proper look at your site Hope for Ghana. Since I don't normally have time during the day, I was at the site from 12 am to 2 am and I looked at everything and listened to every video. Well done. I believe strongly that it's God's assignment for your life because such a wonderful calling is not common. That's why I believe that it's a divine assignment. The Lord is your strength. God bless you for the fruit of your labour. Thank you for your divine and sacrificial thought to support the less privileged and marginalized people in a most needy community. I thank God for your life and the entire organization and its members. God bless you all. Amen.
Wisdom, thank you for your insight and beautiful, encouraging words. It is indeed a calling from God that continues to draw me to do my work in Ghana. God has opened doors at every turn so that Hope for Ghana may impact thousands of lives today. Thank you for your friendship and all your advice along the way. I am grateful that you are part of Hope for Ghana's team. God bless.
